R.P.M. Dance & Fitness Training Niki Lin offers private training and group instruction in Yoga, Pilates, Personal Training, and over 20 dance styles. An accomplished dancer, teacher, and choreographer, Niki Lin has been a vital part of the Central Florida dance community for over 20 years. Her professional career includes appearances in Europe and Asia. Niki Lin is fully insured for professional liability and holds certifications for: Personal Training, Group Exercise, Yoga, Pilates, Massage Therapy, Spinning, and Gravity Strength Training. She also teaches at the RDV Sportsplex Athletic Club. Private instruction allows the student to focus on specific goals, progress at his or her own pace, and have a flexible schedule. Niki Lin encourages her students to be positive, work hard, and practice between sessions. She is happy to customize classes or give studio referrals for special needs. Niki Lin is available 7 days a week to come to your home, work, gym, school, church, neighborhood center, or dance studio for special workshops or personal instruction. In order to reserve your time, all private training sessions are paid in advance. Should you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, R.P.M. requires 24 hours' notice. Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours will be charged full price. Payment by cash, MC, VISA, or AMEX must be received 48 hours in advance. Payment by check must be received one week in advance. There is a $25 fee on returned checks. All private training is 2-for-1. Bring a friend for FREE! Dress Code There is no dress code. Students should wear comfortable exercise attire, socks and tennis shoes. Please do not wear baggy clothes, jewelry, or chew gum. Hair should be tied back from face. Appropriate dance shoes are required. Knee pads are encouraged for hip-hop and break dance. Suggested items to have are: water bottle, towel and favorite music. R.P.M. Dance Class Descriptions (Combo classes also available) Personal Training: Strength training, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, and core stability are equally emphasized and customized to individual goals. Healthy eating habits are encouraged. Home or gym fitness plans are also available. Yoga: Relieve stress while focusing on breathing, alignment, strength and flexibility. Relaxation and Hatha yoga poses provide a gentle class. While power yoga includes Ashtanga influences for a more vigorous work out. Pilates: Stretching and strengthening exercises developed by Joseph H. Pilates that improves posture, unites body and mind, and creates a more streamlined shape. Choreography: Niki Lin will create solo or group routines for special performances, talent shows, dance or fitness competitions, auditions, weddings and more. Audition Prep Class: Improve your mental game and practice skills such as turns, leaps and progressions. Also learn how to quickly memorize and perform hip-hop and technical routines. Stage presence, hair, make-up and resumes are covered. Hip Hop: Funky club and street dance moves are taught in a highly energetic class. Have fun learning the latest moves. Learn to feel confident on the dance floor. Break Dance: Breakin’ is an athletic street style of dance involving moves such as: popping, locking, footwork, back spins, windmills and more. This involves a lot of upper body strength and coordination. Ballroom: Learn patterns and increase your skills for Fox Trot, Cha-Cha, Tango, Waltz, Rumba and Swing. Partner is not required although encouraged. All are great for weddings, parties, cruises, social charities and more. Latin: Learn popular dances such as Salsa, Meringue, Tango, Bolero and Paso Doble. Gain the confidence to get out on the dance floor instead of sitting on the sidelines. Partner is not required although encouraged. Chinese Dance: Learn about the music, culture and dance of the Orient. Niki Lin has studied dance in her native country of Taiwan. Intricate hand movements and props such as ribbons and fans are used. Belly Dance: Have fun and exercise while learning the cultural and sensual moves of the Middle East. This is a terrific toning work out for the midsection. Veil dancing is also taught. Mommy and Me: This is a terrific class for parent and child bonding. Dance and fitness elements are combined to encourage rhythm, coordination and self expression. Special exercises are taught that can be done at home. Tap: Tap is classic American dance. Enjoy working out while making rhythm and sounds with your footwork. Modern: This is taught as a technical dance focusing on contraction and release, fall and recovery, spirals, swings, abstract shapes and improvisation. Influences include: Isadora Duncan, Martha Graham, Moses Pendleton (Momix), and Cirque du Soleil. Jazz: Jazz is a technical dance that focuses on body isolations, pirouettes, kicks, leaps and combinations. Jazz can be funky like MTV and BET or theatrical like "Chicago" on Broadway. Jazz is one of the most versatile dance forms. Ballet: A classical dance characterized by grace and precision, ballet is the foundation of technical dance. A heavy emphasis is placed on barre work, turns, jumps and extension. Pointe is available for advanced students. Lyrical: Class is structured to interpret the lyrics or mood of a song. A combination of jazz, ballet, and modern are incorporated. Leg work, balance, facial and body emotion are emphasized. Acrobatics: Focus on conditioning, yoga-based flexibility, and floor moves such as headstands, handstands, walk-overs, back extension rolls, back handsprings, etc. Sacred/Praise: This is Christian-based, interpretive dance.
